Find More Than a List of Prostate Cancer Specialists
Finding experienced prostate cancer doctors is only one part of the treatment journey. Many patients also have questions about which treatment options may be appropriate, whether they should seek a second opinion, or how to compare recommendations from different physicians.
At the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago, we help patients better understand their diagnosis and navigate these important decisions by providing educational resources, physician referrals, and opportunities to learn from healthcare professionals and prostate cancer survivors. You can explore available prostate cancer treatments and compare different treatment options before meeting with prostate cancer specialists or making treatment decisions.
We don’t recommend one physician or treatment over another. Instead, our goal is to help you become an informed patient so you can have productive conversations with your healthcare team and choose the prostate cancer doctors in Chicago or elsewhere who best fit your individual needs.
If you’ve recently been diagnosed, you can also learn more about how we can help after your diagnosis. Our resources are designed to provide trusted information, connect you with experienced prostate cancer specialists, and support you as you evaluate your options.
Ongoing Support Throughout Your Prostate Cancer Journey
A prostate cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. In addition to helping patients connect with experienced prostate cancer doctors, we offer resources that support patients and caregivers throughout every stage of the journey.
You’re invited to join our support groups, which meet at Wellness House in Hinsdale on the first Wednesday of each month. These gatherings provide an opportunity to connect with other patients, caregivers, and survivors who understand the questions and emotions that often accompany a prostate cancer diagnosis. In addition to hosting our monthly support groups, Wellness House offers programs focused on emotional support, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and caregiver support, providing valuable resources beyond medical treatment.
You can also attend our informational meetings, where physicians and other experts discuss prostate cancer screening, treatment advances, recovery, and survivorship. These sessions provide an opportunity to hear from prostate cancer specialists, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of your treatment options.
Many patients also find encouragement by reading real life stories from prostate cancer survivors. Learning how others approached treatment decisions and recovery can provide valuable perspective while reminding you that you are not facing this journey alone. Whether you’re looking for prostate cancer doctors in Chicago, comparing treatment options, or simply deciding what to do next, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago is here to help with guidance, trusted resources, and support throughout your prostate cancer journey.
